Level property with room for a pool. Wilton location close to towns and commuter routes.Homeowner Perspective: Why We love Living HereThe Location:Dudley Road is very close to the Westport town line, and South Wilton is convenient to many places, both in town and out of town. We are central to everything, while at the same time living on farmland that is completely private on three sides, giving the impression of extensive acreage and total privacy. The neighborhood is tranquil. The farm across the road ( caddy corner ), belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Offinger. It is about 18 acres and is one of the last working farms in Wilton. Their farm stand is open all year with the exception of deep winter and there is always fresh organic produce. His tomatoes are to die for.Chestnut Hill Road ( Rt. 53 ) is a state road. When it snows, it is one of the very first roads plowed along with Dudley Road. We never worry about winter storms as the roads are always plowed.There is great walking and biking all around the neighborhood into Wilton and down to Westport and the beaches. The school bus stops at the end of our driveway.The Land:We love the land. It is quiet and peaceful giving us a sense of space and privacy. All the gardens have been planted with perennials so we are guaranteed flowers in every season, every year. The flowering trees are dizzyingly beautiful in the spring: crabapple, dogwood, magnolia, cherry, Japanese snowflower. The land is flat and gets lots of sun, fantastic for sports games and parties. And lets not forget the wildlife, especially the birds. The property was originally the sheep meadow of a large farm. The original barn stood next door on the corner of Dudley and Chestnut Hill Rd ( where the stone house now stands ) and the original farmhouse was across the road on Chestnut Hill.  More Less
