Extremely pleased and surprised by the curriculum at Emmorton Elementary. We moved to Maryland in 2013 and have seen a dramatic improvement in daughter (2nd grade). Her curiosity for learning has increased tremendously and this is in great part to tremendous nurturing and motivating environment constantly offered by teachers principal and staff. The challenging curriculum is in alignment with common core and seems to offer more--which is definitely a plus. Parents are constantly kept informed; school has very high standards when it comes to each child's progress and parent's involvement. Highly recommend !

My experience with Emmorton has been not as pleasant as the rest. Getting services for my son with specific learning needs has been a challenge. When asking for something specific in writing from a teacher she deliberatley disregarded my request. Up until this I would have said Emmorton has been great for my children. These recent events have without a doubt caused me to question the intergrity of the staff and administrators.

Emmorton is truly an outstanding elementary school. You can tell the moment you walk in the doors of this immaculate and well-maintained school that the entire staff is working for what is best for children. Whether it's the custodial or kitchen staff the secretaries and nurse the principal and assistant principal or the teachers everyone seems happy and excited to be there. Great classroom teachers outstanding special area teachers fabulous administrators!

My daughter is in second grade at Emmorton. What a wonderful experience it has been for her. They have wonderful teachers and a very active pta. Unfortunately due to redistricting we will probably be at a new school next year.

What a great school! We moved here in November so our daughter had Kindergarten for a couple of months in a different school. What a difference! The teachers are caring. The curriculum is challenging and our daughter is inspired. Thanks Emmorton!

I have two daughters both attend Emmorton Elelmentary school from Kindergarten. They both love the school. They especially love the specials including art music PE and media.

Emmorton is a great place to work!

My daughter started in second grade last year with Mrs. Parker (who is now retired) after being in a Montessori program for 3 years. At Emmorton her reading skills improved tenfold primarily because of the many reading incentives and mandatory reading iniatives. Her math skills are also above par within one year of being at EE. Before coming to EE my daughter was slightly behind in reading and significantly behind in math - she now tests at or above her grade level. I also volunteer at the school and have had the opportunity to overhear the special ed tachers' interactions with their students - they should be commended! The quality of the teacers at EE is unmatched. I cannot say enough good things about EE its staff the level of parental involvement or the efforts of the PTA. -Tricia Thompkins

I have 2 boys @ Emmorton - grades K & 4th - and have been very pleased with the school's administration and teacher's. As with anything in life there are issues that come up - and it has been my experience that the school is very willing to address them. The focus is what is best for the child. There is great parental involvement at the school - and the PTA sponsors many activities (during the school day - and afterschool). I would highly recommend Emmorton Elementary.

Emmorton Elementary is one of the finest schools in the state. My children attended K-2 and greatly wish we did not have to move away. Spec ed program should be used as a sample for all states; staff and teacherss are amoung the best and greatly care about the children's education. It's an A+. High recommend. Parent involvement at almost 100%. Many programs to get involved with.
