2012 Annual Porch Brunch & House Tour in Collingswood, NJ

Discovering America's Hidden Gems!
Sunday, May 20th, 2012

It's amazing what a slower pace allows you to discover. Be it the casual garden planted around a century-old Sycamore tree, the decorative dentil molding along a porch cornice, or the pattern of an inlaid wood floor - a leisurely stroll around town and through the homes of Collingswood will uncover hidden gems of historic beauty.

This year, Proud Neighbors of Collingswood is "Discovering America's Hidden Gems" as we observe National Preservation Month, sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Our annual Porch Brunch with House and Garden Tour is an ideal way to celebrate the historic places hidden right in your own backyard!

A shady front porch is a perfect place to enjoy a by-gone era of entertainment while dining over a delicious brunch menu. Afterwards, you may decide to wander from house to house or perhaps jump on the trolley to enjoy more time in each home, uncovering the marriage of past craftsmanship and modern-day convenience. Don't forget to linger in the gardens bursting with color, expressively reflecting today's generation and honoring those who cultivated the ground so many years ago planting with bulbs, flowers, trees and shrubs across a backdrop of fences, stone walls, and outside structures.

In preserving our past we discover the hidden gems of those who came before us. By uncovering, restoring, and caring for the buildings and homes of Collingswood, we create jobs, spur economic development, and celebrate the rich gems of our historic treasures. Let us know what you DISCOVER today!
