3 bedroom with loft? or 4 bedroom?

Hello, I am about to buy a new construction house. It is a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath, with a sizable loft. It has an option to make it a 4 bedroom. Personally I like the loft, resale what is better? Thanks

Sounds like you are in a battle between a lifestyle and financial choice. I always believe that in a place you will live that unless the lifestyle choice would be financially destructive to go with the choice that suits your lifestyle more. That would apply in this case, as leaving it a loft may not be the ideal financial decision, but it is not such a big deal in the end.

4 bedroom is what most of my buyers hope for, when we do a search we will start at a 3 bedroom
Will this be difficult to close in when you decide to sell though? If not, (and price it out in advance) and you prefer the loft, go with the loft for yourself and close it in (make sure you get a permit when you close it in please)

A 4bd would most likely bring you a higher resale value than a loft, however if you will be in the home a while, and you like the loft, then go with what you want.
