"unique visitors" is entirely different than "hits".  "hits" are "page view" counts, which is much higher than the count of registered users logging in and unique I.P.addresses in a given month.

But I do appreciate the reference to the increase in Zillow staff.  I had been posting about 300 employees.  The article from a month ago states 325 people.
