6500 tax credit

I live back in NY I own a Co-op from 1996 to Oct 2008 then we move to Las Vegas and bought a home in Jan of 2009 would I be elegible for  this new 6500 tax credit

Just to reaffirm, new bill is not retroactive. The goal is to create new buyers, and making this retroactive would cause more financial and administrative burden than intended. The credit gets better with each extension and some are missing out which is unfortunate.

No you wouldn't be eligible for any portion of the tax credit new or old.

Not from what I have read. This tax credit that was passed by the house and senate is not retroactive to include buyers who have already purchased. However, the final version of the bill has been not signed by the President yet.
