Addition to house

Profile picture for kerwinq
I am looking to add a family room and extend the garage on my house.  Is there a web site that I can look at to make a drawing or estimate what materials are needed?  Is there a web site that I can see what the code requirements are for the Boise area?  I had some estimates done and just want to make sure I am not being charged to much.  I plan on only having the exterior contracted out and doing all wiring, interior work myself.

Thanks for any help,  Kerwin

Here is a link to the Boise City data you requested.

 http://www.cityofboise.org/Departments/City_Clerk/CityCode/page14176.aspx

I do not know of any web sites that would be worth subscribing to for a single use application like you are after.  Therefore, I suggest getting several bids from reputable contractors for the work and go with the one that has the most experience, priced right and willing to work with you under your terms.

If you need a name or two, let me know.

Best of luck!

I agree with Jim... but servicemagic.com is a resource that will get contractors to bid on your project.Your city website may have your building codes posted, but good luck understanding it. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt ... es/idaho/
