I am going to really miss reading your posts, as they were very balanced, informative, well written and witty.
I can entirely respect your position - if the pain is greater than the value gained, only a masochist would keep on - I just wanted to let you know that you'll be missed.
Once I purchase my second house and move into it, I will likely stop posting as much as I currently do since I want to have time to enjoy my house and not read senseless attacks and gloom and doom.

You're all very nice, and thanks for the kind words... but I'm burned out... not by all the little dogs, but even Lions are bothered by all the stinging flies, and other pests. There is just too much infighting and bickering, and just not enough real estate to stick around for...

Don't blame Elv!s for the burn out..way too many cry babies and sissy Mary's on this site. Elv!s was one of a very few 'keep it real' guys on here with a sense of humor, great wit and scarcasm and 'right on' remarks. What a bunch of Dips!
So many of you are way too sensitive and sooooo extremely BORING!!! Don't know how you have any clients at all .....UGH!
Pettiness, arguing and especially the belittling is why I never signed up or posted earlier. As a new agent, I was looking forward to learning all I could about real estate, and was hoping to be able to ask any questions I might have had here. However, it was after seeing the way that some of you so called real estate "professionals" treated Chris Cox, that my mind was quickly changed on that. Elvis, while I did find most of your postings to be informative, you also have also done your fair share of "not always being nice".
The more I read these disscussion pages, the more it looks like a good ol' boys club. If your a new poster or not a regular poster, then your just not wanted, and your opinion quickly dismissed.
I love sarcasim as much as the next person, but comments like, "Your truely bad picture or your K-mart suit", have no value other than to insult and hurt. It is THAT kind of stuff that makes Zillow not fun.
Elvis, I hope that you now know that it isn't very fun being on the other side, and will continue to post. To everyone else, PLAY NICE.

Sometimes a step back is essential to regain perspective. Elv!s has a far more tactful way of being honest and losing his insight would be a great loss.
sdcal... I think you misunderstand my reasoning. I'm not the least bit concerned about the direct attacks on me... I believe I was able to hold my own on those... it's the constant back and forth... the consistant whining, complaining, and bitterness of the boards.
Have I had my share of snottiness? Sure, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. But I believe that I've managed to keep the bulk of my comments civil, polite and helfpul.. (can't say that for everyone) INCLUDING the thread on Chris, while I began rather poorly, I think you'll see that I apologized to Chris for that, and went on to be what I believe was helpful. Maybe I was a bit harsh with him... but ultimately helpful and honest, even though a bit direct. And Chris responded well, I believe... at the end he was even looking for my approval. So, sorry... I don't accept your reproach.
Elvis- I totally understand- I've done the same thing. I'm a seller and I really don't want to hear the total doomer attacks, nothing constructive, just "lower the price", and "the end of the world is coming".
I have always read your posts with respect , you are one of the level headed ones here. I woul say I'll miss you, but I'm rarely on anymore. It's hard enough to do what I have to do with out the demoralizing influence of people who just repeat the same thing over and over .
I do check in to see who the market is doing , when some start having showings , it spreads quick and everyone starts having more showing. Having been in sales, you know what I mean.
I wish you well, and hope you will pop in from time to time!
Elvis- I was in agreement with you about the pettiness, arguing, the belittling. I think everyone is fed up with all the negativity. I was just pointing out that one of the things you were complaining about, you had in fact done yourself.
As far as Chris is concernered, I was addressing all posters. I know there were some that were down right mean. I think some agents that have been in the business a long time, forget how little they knew when they first started. Real estate principles 101 doesn't really cover much. Just starting out can be overwhelming enough, without people making fun of legitimate newbie questions (Short sales...AZrob, not impressed). I must say that I admire the fact that Chris actually stuck around after that one.
All I wanted to do was just point out, To ALL posters, was just to have some basic courtesy. To treat others in a way that they themselves would like to be treated.

I apprecate that you found many of my postings informative... but I'm done. I don't enjoy this site anymore, there's no true "real estate" being discussed (there is some being argued), and there's just nothing constructive here anymore.
Even the moderators can't manage to run the site properly, kowtowing to bullies and allowing rude and obnoxious posts to remain. (sorry, Michael). It just ain't no fun and no value anymore. Buh-bye.

Timing is funny. I've been lurking on Zillow for a couple of years and only recently decided to jump into the mix. I try to be careful but have fallen short from time to time.
Two things to know...
1. I read your posts. I don't always agree, but I read them. I cannot say anything in particular has helped me, but the truth is there must be something there or I would ignore them like so many others.
2. My broker who has known about my zillow experience and participation for some time just yesterday told me that zillow had emailed her on Saturday. She finally decided to check it out. She spoke highly of your comments and I told here to go back and read more of your past comments.
I agree, an awful lot of BS here, but every once in a while something positive or creative comes along.

Too bad Elvis, you were one of the ones keeping the threads at a level of normacy. Too many on these boards, just attack and ridicule rather than contributing, I understand why you are leaving. Soon with all the decent people leaving, there will be nothing but %#$%$#% left, and I can just imagine the level of disussion then. Good luck to you and hope to see you back now and then.

Oh, Elvis, you're one of my favorites! Honest. You are always good for a slap of reality across the face, even when we don't want to hear it. You're honest, balanced and flat out funny. Oh, and you're local to me. I like that, too!
I get it, though. The boards have gotten bitter and rude. I'll cop to being the ocassional whiner, but it has gotten a bit out of control. I'm all for free speech but Zillow needs to do a better job policing at times. Please come back soon!

Okay... I've had enough pettiness, arguing, belittling, personal complaints to zillow, and complaining phone calls. It's just not worthwhile. There's not enough real estate going on here, to make it worth the effort.
I'll miss many of you, whom I've become friendly with, and I'll check in now and then.... but for the most part I'm through.
Good luck all, it's been fun, but it's not anymore. :-(
