Take a look at the inspectorseek.com website. This site is run by the largest home inspection association in the world. The inspector on that site should follow the Standards Of Practice set by the association which is good if your state doesn't have a licensing requirement.

Check the internet and call a few to see what they charge, see if they are offering any specials and most importantly, what is their guarantee? You can also request a copy of their inspection report to see what they do inspect.
Some home inspectors will refund the amout of the inspection if they fail to find a proplem (that they should have found) and the defect arrises.
