Applying for mortgage but I have a judgement against me.

Ok, so i'm approved for a fha loan. Everything's going good. The only issue is I have this judgement against me on a credit card that I once had when I was 18. I'm 43 now. The judgement is only for $800 but it's in another state. I have no problems with paying this off.
What's the best way to pay this off? Since there's a judgement against me, do i have to appear in court? And if I do contact the collection group and pay them. How do I know that it'll clear my judgement? Help please!

Your lender or who ever is closing the loan should be able to assist with this. Good Luck.

Hi Bob, your lender knows all your financial background and is in a better position to help on this one.  The best of luck!

The lender should be able to better guide you. It is wise to pay it off anyhow. Also, are you pre-approved or do you have a loan commitment?

It's approved but the judgement has to be cleared before closing.

If you have been approved for the loan, why do you need to settle the judgement? Is the approval contingent on you doing that? If that is the case, you may want to ask for input from your mortgage broker.
