Are homes appraising out where they should be or are they appraising out less than assessed value? I

currently owe 173,000 on my 2400 square foot home and I am paying 6.5% interest rate. I would like to refinance or sell but not sure if my home would appraise out high enough. Have made some improvements since purchasing the home 2.5 years ago.

Great Question. Often times we don't even know if a property will appraise out. We can give a competent market analysis but I have seen appraisals coming out all over the board lately. We have even had new homes not appraising at sale price. Your best bet is talk with a local Realtor that understands your market. If you need assistance with locating a quality Realtor that can assist you with your decision please feel free to contact me.

Best of luck with your home!

Markets are spotty all over the country.  Appraisals have been coming back with surprising numbers.

Pay a realtor to check comparable sales in your neighborhood to get an idea of what to expect.
