Are physician loans still available?

My wife and I are looking for a 750000-1M dollar house, with around 10-15% down. We both work, and I'm a physician, about 8 months in practice. I've found most jumbo loans are still asking for 20% down; are there "physician" loans still available?

This is a post from 1 1/2 years ago. But, since it comes up in searches, here goes an answer.

Most everyone can give you 90% LTV on a Jumbo these days. A true physicians loan is 100% LTV.

Fifth Third bank has the product still. You can google them. Here are their guidelines:

  •  100% of the value of the home for loan amounts up to $500,000
  •  95% of the value of the home up to $1 million

There are still physician loans available from several lenders.   Whether or not that is the best option or not depends on multiple factors.   There are more than a few lenders presently offering jumbo loans @ 10% down to borrowers above 720 fico scores.

Hello there,

The following banks offer a "Doctor Loan" in Missouri:
All of them have slightly different maximum loan amounts, however they allow for less than 20% down.

-Regions Bank
-Fifth Third
-Bank of America

Just wanted to get this info out there for anyone else looking for a doctor loan in the state of Missouri.

I hope you ended up finding a great lender to assist you on your home purchase back in 2013!

Cheers

Yes, physician loans are still available. I see that you are in St. Louis and - as far as I know - Fifth Third Bank is still offering them here. Best of luck!

You should find favorable loans with your LOCAL Bank or Mortgage Broker. A National lender does not understand your profile. Go Local.
