Yes there are...It depends on how bruised you are, your ability to pay (with proof of), and what programs that are out there for you...A good mortgage counselor can point you in the right direction...The climate is in flux right now so, you have banks holding their wallets close to their hearts and the sub prime lenders all but run away. There are rent to own options, hard money lenders, government subsidy programs and often state programs available.Don't give up, check local organizations first and go from there.

i'm curious, usually people asking for handouts have a little bit more to offer, ie 17 kids and i can barely afford to clothe them... why is it that you think a poor credit score would/could entice charitability in the form of cash gifts?
i think banks should offer cash gifts to borrowers with 800+ credit, afterall if i was a lender, that is the type of person i would want to be damn sure was buying a house... almost everyone has "a few bruises"

Are there any grants to help with down payment and closing costs for those who have bruises/credit?
