Homeowners in Florida who are 65 or older could qualify for an additional $25,000 or $50,000 homestead exemption from city and county property taxes. To qualify for this exemption, your adjusted income must not be more than $25,873 (in effect for 2009). This amount is subject to a cost-of-living adjustment each year.

Yes, senior exemptions of up to $50,000 are available in certain counties and cities to those 65 and older who have a gross income below $20,000. Check with your local tax assessor office. (I am currently licensed in MO, but previously was licensed in FL).
