Bankruptcy/Foreclosure and getting a new mortgage

I had multiple properties that were all disastrously underwater which I obtained during the boom. I filed for bankruptcy which was discharged in 2008 and included all the mortgages. It's been 5 years since the bankruptcy but one of the properties didn't actually foreclose until 2011, which I found out when I tried to get a mortgage for a home that year. There is no mention of the foreclosure on my credit report due to the BK. I'd like to buy a home now but worried that even though I will get a pre-approval based on my credit report and income, it will fall through during underwriting. Can someone tell me if at this point, there is any way that I can get a mortgage? I feel I have done my time working hard at being prudent, saving up money and building my credit back up since the BK.

The BK docs must verify that the mortgage was included in the BK - property was voluntarily surrendered at time of BK. The shortest waiting period is only 2 yrs after BK discharge IF the mortgage was included in BK and not reaffirmed.  If the mortgage debt was reaffirmed and then foreclosed, the waiting period is 3 yrs after foreclosure.
