Because our hundred-year-old home burned, Zillow info is not correct - new home is different -

How can we correct Zillow info ?

You can claim your home on Zillow, and edit the home facts.

What is a Zestimate? explains timing after edits to see changed in the Zestimate.

Correct it at your local county tax assessor's office, and Zillow will eventually get the revised data from their data collection companies.

That will not revise the estimate completely though, as the last purchase price and date sold have a major impact on the estimates.  But you can post your own estimate and the means that it was determined.

Even for property tax purchases, proposition-13 does not change the tax assessed value proportional to the change in property value when a structure is replaced by insurance, thus the tax assessed value also used in the estimates is not going to reflect the replacement property.

Besides, many 100 year old historic homes are worth substantially more than the equivalent "new", so if the adjustments are made, the estimates should go down.

You can also claim the home and correct the revised sqft, # bedrooms, # bathrooms, and year built yourself right on this site.
