You are definitely eligible for a mortgage loan as long as you qualify in the other required areas. Please contact a mortgage lender and get the process started. Good Luck

You could go FHA or a conventional loan through Freddie Mac. If you're a Veteran then look at a VA Loan. If the location your interested in living in is a rural area then you could go with 100% financing thorugh USDA. Having re-established credit since your BK is going to be very important. If you have not re-established any new credit then I suggest you do so before applying for a mortgage.

FHA just changed the qualifying requirements so you may be able to qualify after only a year post bankruptcy!

Contact a credit union or lender to verify your eligibility.

Buy the home now with FHA financing (assuming it's a good value, you shouldn't wait). You could refinance next year to a conventional loan.

FHA is your best bet right now.  Once your BK is 4 yrs old, conventional loans will open up to you.  Contact me through my profile and I can put you in touch with someone in my group that can help you out.
