Buying a "foreclosure"

Interested in homes in Pahrump listed as "foreclosure". Is it a straightforward, simple process in making an offer to the lender, and getting it accepted if the offer is sufficiently high? Or is it a bureaucratic nightmare?

You may want to consider hiring a buyer's agent who is familiar with foreclosures in your area.  You want to be sure that you are offering a competitive price, and that you are getting as much house as possible for your money.  You also will need someone to advise you about home inspections, etc., as most of these homes are sold in "as is" condition.

Unfortunately it isn't that simple.

Lenders usually hire agents to deal with selling their foreclosures unless they go to auction at the "courthouse steps".  You can learn more in the foreclosure info center.
