Buying a home in the Big Bear area

I'm considering buying a home in the Big Bear area. What kind of things do I need to consider. For instance, many homes are on steep inclines. Do I have to worry about access in the winter? Are there other homeowners in the area I might be able to get advice from?Thank you

If you want easy access, stay as close to town as possible. And maintained roads. Anyways you look at it, I would have a 4x4 or an AWD with chains.
Sugar Loaf is a great area close to town and the roads a well traveled.
