Cassie,
Since he has already been pre-approved he is moving in the right direction. I do not see why he shouldn't attempt to buy this house, but I would recommend contacting a local real estate agent to work on your behalf in the negotiating and closing processes. Good Luck in your endeavors.

Cassie, thanks for your question. I am in Pittsburgh and recommend speaking to a local Realtor to help you out. They do not cost you any money and will actually get you a better deal than you could. If you need a recommendation, I can help.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Hi Cassie
You have already taken the most important step by your boy friend getting prequalified for a loan. With that in mind, I would suggest you find a good local Realtor to reprsent you as a buyers agent, if you have not already done so, He or She can walk you through the process of the purchase and assit you in making a good decision to buy this one or move on to another.
Hope this helps

Cassie, your boyfriend can probably buy a house. You can not buy a house as you have no income and could not qualify for a loan.
The reason I say he probably could is he has to have a credit score of 640 for most lenders and a good debt to income ratios. Then he needs a down payment. Assuming he has all of that in place he should be able to get a loan for that small an amount. You could ask a local bank or credit union to see what he can do for a loan. For such a small amount a credit union may be your best choice.
The links below may be of help.
This shows the basic house buying process.
"Its your first home and you are looking for something but are not sure where to start to look or about loans."
Some things to consider you might not have thought of before.
"What should I watch out for when choosing a home to buy so that I don't jump into a money pit?"
"Questions I would ask when purchasing any property."
