Why can't I make a deal?I thought being a cash buyer was supposed to help me get a house?! The last two I tried to buy the seller was only interested in a specific number, not how it was paid for.

Ultimately, what realy counts is the net amount that the seller will pocket. Unless the seller needs a quick closing, he/she is willing to wait 6 weeks to close conventional or FHA if their net earning is higher. You do not say if you have any contingencies on your contract, but even if you are paying cash if you have a home inspection contingency, or any other type of contingency, that in itself may be a turn off.
