I'M GOING TO BUY A MERITAGE HOME AND BEFORE SPENDING 400 TO GET A VA APPRAISAL. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF VA WILL COME CLOSE TO WHAT MERITAGE IS SELLING THE HOME FOR.  THE PLAN IS A SINGLE STORY 1780 SQUARE FT. THE BASE PRICE IS 175,000 WITH 21,000 DOLLARS OF UPGRADES CAN YOU HELP ME ?

I would recommend an appraisal.  I am buying a inventory home from meritage homes in Houston, tx and we got one.  The appraisal came in for 30k less than they wanted.  We are waiting to hear what they are going to do.  Since it is an inventory home and we didn't have it built, the bank will not loan money for more than the appraisal.
