Can F1 student (have SSN) get mortgage for buying a house in St. Louis?

My fiance and I are both F1 students in graduate school. We both have steady income and SSN. We are thinking about buying a house in St. Louis. We're just wondering if we could get a mortgage from the bank.

Just in case HUGD made this confusing.  Thelenders in Florida that lend accross the United States.  The Loan Officers in Missouri are not familiar with the loan programs, but the Loan Officers in Florida know the programs that can help them because they use them regularly.

In order to apply for a mortgage, one must show a steady source of income.  Part time work on campus (as is allowed by an F1 visa) is not likely to be sufficient to support a mortgage.

There are citizens of other countries that buy property in the US all the time.  Check with a lender based in Florida.  They deal with this all the time and may be able to assist you.  If you would like to rent a home/condo in the meantime I would be glad to help.
