Can I be uneligable for a HARP refi. if my loan was sold to my current servicer from another lender?

Profile picture for MrH057
I meet all of the requirements for a Fannie Mae HARP refinance with an LTV of about 112%.  I was told by my servicer, Chase, that I was not eligible because my loan had been sold to them in a batch sale (which I of course had no control over).

That is not a true statement but HARP is not that easy to qualify for and most banks won't help you.  Try a mortage broker and if they can't do it then you don't qualify.  You may think you qualify but there are so many requirements that they aren't telling you about and that may be disqualifying you.

If that fails then a loan modification may be an option for you.  What are your rates and what are you trying to do?
