Can I delete the information regarding the original sales price that we paid?

I know that this is public data but I'd rather not have it out there for all of the world to see and think "how could this home be worth so much more now?"

I don't believe you can only because it is public information.  That's what I have been told.

You do realize that in disclosure states, that information is and always has been published in the classified section of local newspapers, and was available from the county (usually for a fee).  The information has always been available, sites like this just make it more easily accessible.

The easy accessibility will probably/hopefully have the effect of making agents more transparent as well.

However not everyone will read carefully enough to notice this is an 11 month old thread.

Sometimes we have to be careful what we wish for... consumers wanted more transparency in the real estate market... well, now we all got it.

I agree with Bob.  Unfortunately it is public knowledge as to the price that was paid for the house.  The price of the house is always relative what the market is willing to pay at any particular moment.  You were fortunate enough to get the home at a great deal.

I think you are stuck with the published data on the good deal you got.
