When moving to a new job, most lenders will require that you are with the new company for at least 30 days before you can fund your loan. Your job history is considered, as they like to see at least 2 years of history. That is not a deal breaker though. Its best to have someone take a look at your entire picture (a mortgage application) to give you complete feedback. To address the question directly though, being in a new job for at least 30 days is all thats needed. If this is a commission based job, then it wont be enough time, unless you have been in the same line of work for at least 2 years time.

Most lenders require 2 years in the same field of work, it does not have to be the same job. An example is if you worked as a mechanic in one shop then went ot work for another shop also as a mechanic, that would account towards your 2 year job time. I just had a client got bought with an 18 month job history because he did have a great credit score.

Congratulations on having a great credit score. We work with so many people that want to buy a home, have some money, but have horrible credit. The best option is to call a lender and let them review your situation. A lot of times if you stayed within the same industry, it's not a major hang up, but if you made a major change it can take some time to settle. Call Jason Cooley with Intergity Mortgage. He is an excellent lender and can tell you exactly what your options are.

It all depends on several factors. You need to hook up with a loan originator. They can be of great help.

Can I get a home loan if I have a credit score of 740 but just changed jobs 2 months ago?
