If having your listing on Zillow is important to you, I recommend you find an agent who advertises on Zillow.  I would also recommend that you check out the marketing your selected agent does on Realtor.com and Trulia.com   Both get a tremendous amount of traffic.  Many of these National Real estate sites offer enhanced advertising to individual agents. You will find the enhanced listings attract more buyers, offer more detail and more photos.  Some Brokers submit all their listings to Zillow.  Other companies do not and leave that to the individual agent. Leave the marketing to your agent.  Once you scroll through these sites you can easily pick out agents who do a better job of marketing.

Of course, you as an owner could advertise your home anywhere but if your property is listed with a particular Agent/Company, any Buyers if they are not represented by another Agent/Real Estate Co. they will have to go trough your Agent/Company.
