Can I place a wanted advertisement?

I have been looking for a house, or land to build a house for over a year now, and I am not having much luck. Can I place a wanted ad to let people know that I am a serious buyer?

Zillow doesn't appear to have that option.

Have you been looking on your own...?  Or have you enlisted the services of a buyer agent to help you find what you want....?

Yes, you can. There are several sites that offer free online ads. Craig's List is one of the more popular options.

The best way is to meet someone who is an investor...one that is willing to sell a property at a possible discount. With a little digging, you can find out who owns a particular parcel and contact the owner directly to negotiate. Additionally, some investors/property owners are willing to consider offers that aren't all directly monetary...if you can provide a service they need.

Good luck!
Jason

There is an area on Craigslist that allows you to do this but I'd be careful since Craigslist often comes with spam, specially when you are putting out there that you are a willing and able buyer of anything.

A Buyer's Agent would know exactly where to look for the type of home/land in your area that you are looking for. Many buyers don't realize the benefits of having a buyer's agent, but in a situation like yours, this agent will be able to search much more effeciently and effectively since they are most likely an expert in your area. Services like this are often free to the buyer, since the seller of the property picks up the tab in a majority of cases. Do your research and conduct multiple interviews to make sure you are finding the best agent for your needs.

If you are set on looking on your own, Zillow is a great tool of course but there are other websites out there that can be of use to you. Tip: when you are out and about and have a minute to stop, take out your smartphone if you have one and use your Zillow app to search available homes/lots that are for sale in that particular area. The Zillow app will pinpoint your location using GPS and will show you everything in that area.

Happy holidays!

You should retain the services of a local Realtor, who can help you search.

Why aren't you enlisting the services of an Exclusive Buyers Agent in your market?
