Also may want to see if pluming (water coming in and distributed to house for use) is copper. It was probably not when built but many houses have been updated. If not, insurance may be higher and or risk of failure of pipes. Upgrading may cost a lot, but use as negotiating point. Good luck.

i suppose it depends on your definition of complete history.
if you mean every repair ever done, then it would be extremely RARE to find such a thing. You'd have to had every owner be very diligent and pass that on to the next owner.
however, your local tax records should show every change in ownership. and if it is in a town then there should be records of every permit issued.
of course it might have been built before permits were required and things might have been done without permits. if you are concerned about the condition of the house, it's best to do inspections. then of course there is always the appraisal When getting a loan your bank will require an appraisal but there's nothing stopping you from getting one ofyour own. - it just costs money,
you can always just ask for as much history as possible from the sellers but it's extremely doubtful that there is a detailed history. it's a rare and nice occasion when that happens (usually a one owner that was very detailed).
It's most likely well worth it to have an electrical person look over the wiring. I'd bet it is Knob and tube if the wiring has never been updated and most outlets probably not grounded.
best of luck!

Can a person find complete history on a residence since it was built?
