Can the basement be finished?

Is the ceiling height of the basement high enough to finish for usable space?

My husband just measured it.  It is 6'10" to the framing that is already there.  We never finished as there is plenty of room in the house for us.  You would have to look at it to see for yourself.

We have a Smith machine in the basement as we use it only for a place to workout.

The attic could be finished and used as a room as it is floored and would actually make a very nice room.
