Can you get a VA loan with 595 credit score

Brother has a 595 on all three lines; can he get a VA loan; he is a disabled Vet with great DTI; noticed he had some of my mortgages and equity lines on his equifax report; we are working to remove; question why all three reports show same score when credit profiles are different; over $400K in mortgages on the Equifax report; all mortgages being paid on time?

spoke with my brother today and he received something in the mail from a credit card company denying him a card that said his score was 653; he ordered his credit report from a service that said all three companies had his score at 595; how do you confirm correct score?

I would make your target score 640.  At that rate just about any lender could help you.  At 620 there are a very limited number of investors, and at 600 even less.  Below 600 there are roughly zero lenders.

Hey, technically there is no minimum VA score so you'll be dealing with investor overlays. As Robert said, I haven't seen a lender go below 600--in fact, in my market I haven't seen a lender go below 620. As Robert said, your best bet is to work on the credit score. Getting above 620 from 595 is not THAT difficult but it may take a little time and some strategy.

The lowest I have seen available for a VA loan is 600.  Best thing to do is work on the credit and score.  There must be other things on credit bringing the scores down that low.
