Can you not get another appraisal in a 6 month period of time after the first one is done?

Not for an FHA loan but for a conventional loan each lender will order their own. If you have had improvements to the property or have seen recent homes selling for higher than before then it would justify the cost of ordering a new one.

If it's FHA then it will follow the home for six months. If you're asking as a seller, the buyer's lender will generate the appraisal, anything that you provide will not be considered so don't waste your money. If your agent is competent, they shouild be able to zero in on the appropriate comps that an appraiser will use - however since that doesn't appear to have happened the first time......

It will follow the house for any buyers using FHA financing for 6 months.  You will need to market it for conventional financing only to prevent this appraisal being used for the next 6 months.

Post the question in the Mortgage section for confirmation from actual lenders.

That is what I am thinking also. The buyers real estate person said it was documented and will not change for 6 mo.

You can get an appraisal every week if you want and pay for it. The old saying goes, the appraisal is good for the day it is made and that is all.
