They do vary, and it's all about to change this October as the entire town is being re-assessed.
It used to be that you were charged 4% (x millage) if the home was your primary home and 6% (x millage) if your home is being used as a second home or investment property. the millage changes depending upon your location, as to whether you pay county AND township charges or whatever.
the issue is one that is immensely complicated, and made all the more so by the foreclosures in our marketplace. Here, your taxes are based on some kind of assessed value not what you actually paid for it... at least that's what has happened on a couple of deals at Prudential. And they're not all the same, either!

In South Carolina taxs are based upon the point of Sale.....Sale Price times 4% or 6% x millage for what ever area you are looking in.

just wanted to know what the property taxes are? I'm just now looking around but find that the taxes vary greatly from place to place
