Can you use VA mortgage to refinance or just purchase?

My husband should be able to obtain VA mortgage benefits.  We own a home but want to refinance.  Can those benefits be utilized to refinance an existing mortgage or only purchase a home?

Your VA benefits will allow you to refinance your home.  Depending on how much equity you have and if you are taking additional cashout you may want to explore conventional financing.  The VA funding fee may not be worth using that type of loan.
