The old Albertson's and Vitamilk buildings are being torn down to make way for new developments. The location on the Vitamilk site will house a Metropolitan Market grocery and other retail on the first floor with several floors of residential above.

Have you seen the new buildings? They went up fast, and look really good, but HUGE. There are going to be a lot more long walks to Green Lake after trying to find parking around that area.

As of now (4.2009) there's nothing but the big hole at Woodlawn and 73rd where that Metro Market contemplated going in. Hopefully the Vitamilk family that owns that block can get another partner or anchor in there this year to move things forward. It's a clean hole, but it's not doing anyone any good just sitting there idle..
