Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board Closing Schools Affect Property Values

Profile picture for natewolf

Over the past many years clients often specifically purchase homes in certain school districts. Now, with the recent decisions of the Char-Meck School Board to close or realign many neighborhood schools, this could have a dramatic affect on many home values. Another blow to some neighborhoods struggling to attract stable homeowners. If you have an opinion on this subject I'd like to hear it.

Yeah, it all started years ago when the board allowed students to go to different schools from the same neighborhood...with different buses.

There has been no clear stability what-so-ever in school assignments for as long as I can remember. This is not a new thing. I loathe when a buyer brings up schools. I defer to the CMS wensite and keep my big mouth shut!
