Feb 11, Friends of the Library in Mustang.
stop by and say HI if you go! I'll be there. (it's not free...it's a fundraiser) but it's well worth it. and as Wetdawgs pointed out... the one at Firehouse Art Center is THIS SATURDAY.
I haven't gone to that one in years but it was always a treat.

The Cheese Festival in Monroe Wisconsin in September is worth the drive.
What a great country, with so many great festivals of all types. The local County Fairs and pig roasts/pie fests are lots of fun.
I think I'll make up a calendar of Illinois/Wisconsin fests not to miss...and post it.

You might also put together your own "Chocolate Festival". In San Diego, we have a place that is famous for it's desserts, especially chocolate. On the rare occassion, we schedule a night to eat nothing but dessert for dinner. This place tends to rotate many of it's desserts, so it's not a given what will be available.
Basic rules...
- If it looks good, try it.
- None of this one-person-one-dessert nonsense.
- Sampling of other's desserts is not only allowed, but encouraged.
- No spoiling of the dessert by ordering "real" food.
- Since dessert isn't real food, no need to finish anything. Eat as much or as little as you want...just make sure to take one taste of everything.
- No spoiling of the dessert by thinking about calories.
- Go ahead and accent the dessert with a favorite drink.

A little tour:
Starting in Oklahoma, you are in luck. There is one in two weeks here in Norman (wherever that may be)
The tour of Theo Chocolate in Seattle is a great way to get stuffed with chocolate. They give samples at many different stages of the tour. There are many free samples in the associated store if one doesn't have time for the tour (or can't get a reservation). The only problem is that it is very difficult to sleep for a couple of days after all that theobromine.
As long as one is touring Seattle, there is the NW chocolate festival in October.
There is a chocolate meetup group in Boulder, CO. And then on Feb 11 you can sign up for a chocolate cooking class as the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
If in San Franciso, aim for September with their chocolate Festival.

No love on the festival 411. But, if your better-half is a choco-phile, check out Chuao, a chocolatier local to my area. Chuao has a old-school local approach to chocolate - spiced with a few "what?"s. My wife's fave is the Firecracker.
There's a few stores locally, but they have an online shop. My recommendation (okay, my wife's) is the choco-pods. They're small, individually wrapped, and allow you to sample a bunch of different offerinngs.

Chocolate Festivals...
Where else might a man find a cheap way to take the wife out for these treats? and if you know the dates of them...post it!
