Hi Joseph,
I have your same problem. I bought my home at 4205 Swift Avenue 5 years ago. I thought I was in North Park because of my zip code. On the corner of Swift and University there is a sign that says "City Heights" so I figured Swift Avenue borders on North Park and City Heights.
I'm of Irish/English decent and I went to graduate school, so I don't fit in with the City Heights demographic either. My next door neighbors are college educated as well.
Some of my paperwork calls this area "Terra Alta." However, I've never heard anyone use that name in conversation when referencing our neighborhood.
Unfortunately, calling our neighborhood "City Heights West" versus "North Park" devalues it. Nobody wants to live in any part of City Heights, so adding the directional term "West" doesn't help us any.
Your fellow North Parkian,
Kendra Shelly

I live in that area and I believe it has to do with politics between the two communities
City Hights goes as far west as the 805. It is still in North Park as far as zip code/post office but as far as local community it's city hights west.

City Heights West
I purchased my home at 4121 Swift Ave. almost 14 years ago. All my paperwork and appraisals indicate North Park as the neighborhood, not City Heights or City Heights West. My zip code is 92104- I always thought I was on the border of North Park and City Heights.
Could you please explain what City Heights West is about. I certainly don't match the demographic of not completing a high school education and I am of Italian and Portuguese decent- so I don't speak Cambodian or Loation.
Just less than a month ago Zillow indicated that my property was in North Park. What has changed??? Please advise.
Sincerely,
Joseph A. Whitehouse
