Why is the map wrong in Zillow ? Because Zillow is not perfect.
Yes, you are correct, Zillows map of Compton includes county areas on all sides of the city of Compton. Regardless, values here are just guesses, not fact, and you get what you pay for. Zillow is free, and should be considered for entertainment purposes only . If you want a super accurate value, you will need to hire an appraiser or consult a Realtor.
I believe Zestimates are based on similar ZONED properies, so homes within Compton are zoned CO1 (Compton), homes in LA County are zoned LACR1, so Zestimates differentiate between unincorported and incorporated areas, which should result in farily accurate results, as I mentioned in this post...
