Default notice after purchasing a home?

Just bought a home from a lender. Bank took the loan. However I am getting notice of a loan default from the prior loan on the house from the seller. It is under my name and has a foreclosure date. How is this possible if by selling the house, the prior loan should have been covered?

Someone somewhere has messed up something in the system.   Get on the phone first thing in the morning and work with them to get it right.
