Deletging entries

Your site says it is easy to delete a listing. Maybe my screen isn't wide enough to find where you can "easily do this." How about some straight forward guidance and perhaps a button to add, delete or change. Your website is very frutstrating in that it appears to say you are user friendly but you are not really. Perhaps adding a email address rather than guessing whether our add topic will jostle you into action.

I apologize for the trouble you're having. To tell Zillow a home is no longer for sale or sold, just click the "Update posting status" link right next to the for sale price. To change the details of a posting, hit the "edit posting info" in the upper right of the home details page.

Regarding permanently removing a property from Zillow - since all our primary property data is a matter of public record (you can find it at your local courthouse), we do not remove properties from our website.

Hi Drew, since you saying all the records are public and you don't remove them, how come some houses have no information available while most in my neighborhood are shown?

Thanks,
-Vic

Vic -

It may be possible that our data providers have not yet collected the information for some houses in your neighborhood. This is because the upload of information are done by batches.

We are constantly adding data all the time, so be sure to come back to visit the website for updates on your neighborhood.

Not being able to delete a listing that is withdrawn from the market makes me liable for false advertising! We need a delete button for when a home is withdrawn or expired. Please address this problem.

Hi Glenda -

You should be able to update a sold listing. However, it is important to know how your listing was posted on Zillow. If it was posted via an automated feed, you would need to update the source feed and the posting will automatically come down on the site. If you manually listed them, you should also be able to manually take down the listing.

If you can provide us the address in question, we can further investigate this.

Thank you.
