Military personnel based upon certain criteria have far more time to apply and you should go to the IRS web site on the criteria and time frames.

If the house was under contract before April 30th, buyers are still eligible for tax credit as long as they close before September 30th.

$8000 Home Buyer Tax Credit and $6500 repeat Home Buyer Tax Credit is still available to Qualified* Members of the Military!
The tax credit was extended for military members who were deployed between December 31, 2008 and May 1, 2010. The tax credit applies to binding sales contract in place on or before April 30, 2011 and closed by June 30, 2011. (As always, check with your own tax advisor for verification.)
Let me know if I can be of assistance.
