Did the Wall Street Journal misunderstand your statistics?

Can it possibly be true that 30% of all homeowners have a morgage that exceeds the value of their home?  What percentage of homeowners don't have a mortgage?

I'm glad I live in Pittsburgh..

There was a clerical error in an early version of Q1 data Zillow provided to WSJ.  The story has since been corrected to indicate that just over 1:5 all homeowners is now underwater on a mortgage.  Still a big number, unfortunately.  You can read more here in our blog post:

You might want to check out this Retuer's article here that has the Zillow stats. I think they said 1 in 5 homeowners are underwater. Incredible to consider.
