In your opinion, would it be beneficial if Zillow offerred a state by state discussion board still including the same general topics. Sure its nice to converse with others around the country. It would add a new dimension and more relevance to the value of their discussions room if a user could converse with other individuals residing in their own locale.

Would defintiely be useful for networking, but in some of the more remote states you might find yourself talking to yourself......Colorado for instance, have been reading these boards for a couple months and you and like 3 other people are the only ones i have see......Seems to be a bunch from cali tho, so that one may work

Thanks for the feedback. We totally agree and are planning to add this feature to Zillow Discussions in the next few months. I agree with nic though and so, we're more likely to make it an option to tag posts by region than to give each region their own forum.

Greeleys good,(kinda) but a bunch of opportunites if you know what to look for and how to lowball the banks......i went to school at UNC as well, though it was in 99'

Nic - I've just started in the Discussion rooms a couple days ago and based on some of the remarks I've read about our industry, my guess is that alot of folks do spend a lot of time talking with themselves. Sort of like releasing someone from solitary confinement.

Well, opening a random discussion thread by choosing a random thread id number (tid=) I see you do have a "local" discussion board for most areas.

What would help is a link from the general discussion boards to the local discussion boards, and an easier way to look these up.

I still don't exactly know how to get to these without typing in "local" in place of site, and the city name following in the address bar.

it would be excellent idea, as each market has its own variables and different situations that the advice given or questions ask would not be relavent to other areas. I would still suggest keeping the open forums as it is nice to hear what is going on around the country too.

State specific would be great! I look through the post and read how bad things are in California, Florida, and places that have had the HIGH prices for so long and it is just not realistic for my part of North Texas. We are NOT in a buyer's market and our inventory is so very low right now, that prices are on the rise.
I hope some of the powers that be will listen and get this started.
