Any agent who posts a self evident question needs to spend more time in the bathroom than on Zillow. Anyone who answers it should join them.

Usually both. Some established agents will choose one or the other as a specialty, but I know of many veterans that service both to further enhance their skills and experience.

I don't understand why an agent is asking this question. I would hope that he would already know who he is working with.

Most agents work with both buyers and sellers.
As a buyer or seller's agent it is very important to know the market. This is natural for agents that work with both buyers and sellers in specific areas because as they show houses to buyers they learn what is available and at what price and then can quickly analyze what a seller's home value is and where it will fit into the market. As a buyer's agent they know a great deal that won't last long as soon as they see it and as a seller's agent they know how to price and market the home to get it sold fast!
It is also great when an agent works with both sellers and buyers as they have the skills to help a homeowner sell their home and then buy a new one. Having one agent involved in both transactions can make for a much smoother transition for the homeowners/sellers.

I have the ability to work with both and provide services for both sides. In reality, I usually end up with either one or the other. If you forcus your marketing effort only on one side you have given yourself a large handicap to work under. I do know a couple of buyer brokers who focus on buyers only, but I have to give them a lot of credit for the tremendous marketing effort they have to expand in marketing.
So, in short, most brokerages are full service and provide for bother sellers and buyers.

I think most work with both.....and an agent that wants to be successful better have a pretty amazing set of services for both. However, the majority of the agents I know have a passion and natural ability for one or the other. Personally....I have always been a listing lover. :)

I wish I could afford to be that picky! LOL!

Do most agents work with both buyers and sellers or just focus on one?
