Do underground oil tanks have to be removed in Winter park Florida.

Orange County. near a lake.
Is it the EPA,CITY or buyers lender that will make me remove it

it is not required to remove buried oil tanks. Some are still utilized for heating. If an oil tank has been abandoned (no longer in use) it is highly recommended to remove them. and if they are still in usehave them inspected to make sure there is no leakage.

Wow that sounds like a hard question... what type of property is this?  I would say that the EPA and perhaps the Water Management District and perhaps Army Corp of Engineers might be the people to worry about.  You must disclose to any buyer that they are there but I don't think a lender would have any idea of oil tanks underground unless the appraiser finds something or the title company finds something in title search that indicates code enforcement or some other kind of violations...

But .... just you questioning this means that maybe... the oil tanks need to come out... but who's to say if you as a seller do it or the buyer does it after purchase.
