Hi kitadog1,
Mortgage balances, original sale price and year recorded are available to the public, but Realtors can look this information up faster than the general public. I can find that info for you in less than five minutes. If the property you're interested in is in King County, just send me an email with the specific info you want and I'll get it for you.

Ardell, mortgage information remains public. You simply have to visit the King County recorder's office in person to get a copy of a Deed of Trust or Mortgage. They did remove access to those records from their online site for privacy reasons, but a Deed of Trust is still a matter of public record.

Glenn is correct, this information is available to agents in a private, password protected access to King County Records that is not publicly available. There is also no email function to that portion of the system as that information is deemed to be available on an "as needed" basis for client advice issues.I believe mortgage info was available to the public briefly, but there was some abuse of the data being displayed and discussed on blogs. After that I believe the County determined that mortgage information was private and not public, but available to agents for client purposes, but not public display.

Yes. This information is usually available to an agent through the NWMLS. Let me know in an email how I can help you.
