Do you recommend anyone trustworthy to help with a loan modification

I have a question for a client. They have a GMAC loan and have fallen behind two months. They bought back in the crazy day of over heated prices. They are upside down in their home. They want to stay in it and do a loan modification but why continue to pay for a house when it is worth less than half of what you paid for it. My broker told me about pro bono attorneys and attorneys that did the max gardner boot camp that educated them on finding loop holes in the loans that were written more than likely incorrectly etc. Does anyone have any advice or success with any of this. Thank you
