Look for a Loan Officer who has credit analyzing tools. We use a program called Credit Expert. Once a credit is pulled it can be used to simulate how scores can change with corrective action on your credit accounts. We can also help determine if the credit can be fixed quick or over time.

In my experience it is not always true that bankers or mortgage brokers know how to fix credit or are willing to put forth the effort of helping someone fix their credit if it is going to take awhile.
I suggest you learn about fixing your cre\dit and doing it yourself. When you really begin to educate yourself you will be suprised at how far you can get it up (and how quickly!) all by yourself even with limited funds.
I feel like I preach this but please go to www.myfico.com and educate yourself. Read the forums, and then join and ask questions. Look around you will see actual people who have gained substancial points in far less than a year.
If I had done that BEFORE I took advice from a mortgage broker, I'd be decorating my new home instead of blabbing here. Good luck!

You need to have a plan to fix your credit. Call your bank to get prequalified and they will tell you where you are and where you need to be.

I am sure that you can find a Realtor in your area that works with people with bad credit. I do, and even help people get free credit repair, but unfortunately for you I work in the Phoenix market. Beware of people that try and charge you large fees for credit repair and if they do charge, ask for references and check with your local Better Business Bureau.

Do you work with people that have bad credit?
