Does Charter Pointe in Boise, ID generally smell like manure?

Profile picture for Pula Today
I was looking to buy a home in the Charter Pointe neighborhood, but the smell of manure on this particular day was overpowering.  Indeed, it looks like the local elementary school was built right next to a dairy farm.  Was this an unusual experience?  Or does the community generally smell of manure?  I can't believe an elementary school would be built right next door if the smell was so pervasive.

The dairy farm is indeed adjacent to this subdivision however most days it really isn't an issue.  There will some days when the wind is just right (or wrong) that may make you wish you scheduled your picnic in someone else's back yard however.

I have lived in this subdivision for almost 6 yrs, the smell only get around like in early evening but then pretty much we have all our doors closed.
In the Summer we do BBQ alot in our backyard, dont remember it ever bothers us.  We like it because it makes it feels like we live in out in the country side :)
You can also feel the air is fresh and cleaner than if you lived in the center of the city.
The only thing I can warn you though, if you dont like dealing with HOA, then go find a different subdivision :)
Otherwise its great part of the city to live - raise your children.
Thanks
